This coin is the fifth in an Australian Opal one ounce silver proof series. The reverse incorporates an inner panel design of a Tasmanian Devil detailed in pure Australian opal. The outer panel of the coin depicts native soft tree ferns a full moon and the Southern Cross a renowned star group which is only visible in the Southern Hemisphere.

With a mintage of 8000 each housed encapsulated in a grey hinged-lid presentation case accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity and protected by a colourful cardboard 'Australian Opal Series' outer shipping box. Symbolising moonlight a light turns on when the case is opened highlighting the opal design and shining down on the nocturnal creature. Marks on outer packaging
