VERY RARE, 15-20 KNOWN TO EXIST
Struck on a dodecagonal fifty cent blank, between 15 to 20 of these trial/patterns are known to exist.Â
The obverse shows the Australian Capital Territory Coat of Arms with the motto 'FOR THE QUEEN, THE LAW AND THE PEOPLE'. The design is almost identical to the reverse of the 1993 10 dollar coin.
The reverse depicts the new Federal Parliament House in Canberra. This design has some similarities to reverse designs appearing on the 1988 five dollars and 1998 commemorative dollar.
