1981 XD Falcon Tru-Blu

Australia's idea of a 'fair go' was rewarded in 1981 when Queenslander Dick Johnson took victory at Bathurst in his 'Tru-Blu' XD Falcon with co-driver John 'Rusty' French. Having suffered the indignation of 'The Rock' incident the previous year the struggling Johnson had taken the fight to the big-budget dominance of the Holden Dealer Team and his stolen victory tugged at the heartstrings of Australian racing fans.
