There will never again be a car like the Coca-Cola Trans-Am Mustang. Only two years after the XR GT set in stone the need for a V8 power the bright red Mustang of a young Allan Moffat was a no-holds barred full factory import from North America. A 'gift' from Ford and built in the same Kar Kraft workshop as the 1966-1969 LeMans-winning GT40s Moffat's Mustang wasn't just groundbreaking for Australia - its specification was yet to race in the US.
