The reverse design of a stylised dolphin with splashes of water was created by Darryl Bellotti, an indigenous artist of Yamatji and Nyoongar descent.

Each coin is housed in a black leatherette hinged-lid presentation case, protected by a blue cardboard shipper and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity which includes Darryl Bellotti's signature and a description of his people's ageless relationship with the 'irrabuga' (dolphin).

The coins were struck on a mint-to-order basis with orders accepted until the announcement of the 2011 coin when production ended and a final mintage of 504 was announced.
